Here is a more extensive overview:
Sativa- This type of cannabis is best served during the day. The sativa plant’s earthy taste can be your cup of tea or coffee in the morning, but is also prime for that power smoke after lunch. It leaves the smoker with a cerebral high, and gives the body a feeling of euphoria. Sativa cannabis helps to relieve depression and symptoms of fatigue. If you need a creative spark, this is what we would lean toward. It has effects that enhance focus and energize the mind which can aid in your creativity production. So if you need that boost for a hike, or want to engage the mind and have a stimulating conversation among friends; take a toke of this.
Indica- Recognized as a western medicine during the 1800s, it was known as this magical plant from India. This cannabis appeals more to the taste buds, with strains that have a sweeter taste. Indica is what you smoke when you want to have a relaxing night in. Think Indica= "In da couch". Indica strains have effects that relax muscles, relieve body pain, alleviate headaches and migraines; and can reduce anxiety or stress. A worthy adversary to insomnia. Helps users get an appetite and fall fast asleep. With strains like Daywrecker diesel and Grand Daddy Purple, you are assured to be on couch duty for the rest of the night. Don’t make evening plans.
What about Hybrids?
Hybrid cannabis strains provide the best of both worlds. Expert breeders choose from their favorite strains to produce a wide range of hybrids. Strains may hold a balanced 50/50 blend of Indica and Sativa or and combine them into super strains that maintain the best aspects from both parents. Hybrids can be sativa or indica dominant and have the effects to match.
Hybrid
All in all, there are over 500+ known cannabis strains. The main thing we see due to the inaccessibility of cannabis, is that people try what their friend has, or whatever they can get their hands on. Sometimes they are smoking a sativa when really they want to relax and sleep, causing them to get anxious. Sometimes indica is all thats available leading to a lazy day when one wanted to be productive. With all of the strains out there, it's about finding what strain works for how you want to feel, at the time. Each strain can make two people feel differently, so it really is about finding what works for you in the moment!
What about CBD?
CBD is short for cannabidiol. It is another component found in the cannabis plant. CBD can be derived from Cannabis as well as Hemp plants. Think of CBD as more of the healing component of marijuana as opposed to its psychedelic counterpart THC. You can find CBD products in form of flower, tinctures, and as a topical; to treat various ailments both internal and external.
It has helped a wide variety of people from cancer patients to children suffering from seizures. It other cases, it has been used to help treat our furry little four legged friends. That’s right, CBD treatment for your pets! Its healing effects extend beyond humans.
